Sectors, as of 28 Sep 2026

Each row is one sector: its regularly traded stocks (a median of at least ₹5 crore changing hands a session over the last 60 sessions) taken together, each counted equally. A session is a trading day, and a stock is above its 200-session average when its latest close is higher than its mean close over roughly the last ten months. Delivery is the share of traded shares taken into a demat account (the account that holds shares) rather than sold again the same day. More fund buyers counts the stocks whose share of funds adding to them (rather than cutting), over the last three monthly portfolios, is in the highest fifth of all stocks; fewer, the lowest fifth. It is set against other stocks because, while money flows into funds, most stocks see more funds adding than cutting. Fund ownership is the sector's share of the combined portfolio of actively managed equity funds, placed on its own last five years.

Prices to 28 Sep 2026; delivery to 28 Sep 2026 (NSE); fund portfolios for Aug 2026. Delivery reads higher or lower than usual when the last 20 sessions differ from the last 200 by 2 percentage points or more. Fund ownership is placed on the sector's own last 60 monthly portfolios: low for it is the bottom fifth of that range, high for it the top fifth, with the position out of 100. Sectors are folded from the industry labels funds print; a company no fund labels is placed by hand from its own description of its business. Index funds and exchange-traded funds are left out of every ownership figure.

What these are. Each reading is where this stands today against its own past, measured from public exchange files and fund portfolios, with the date it was measured. What they are not. They are not a forecast, a rating or advice. Readings like these were tested over 2015–2026 and none of them told what came next, beyond the ordinary pull of recent price moves. Ordering by a column orders today's readings; it does not rank what comes next. Read what was tested →
